Sharon L. Doherty Student Leadership Award

Amount

A $1000 award will be given to the recipient. The recipient is recognized via the Women's Center media channels and/or at other virtual recognition events hosted by the Women's Center.

Eligibility Requirements

University of Minnesota undergraduate, graduate, or professional students enrolled at least half time with at least two semesters remaining until graduation (for example, applicants submitting an application due in June 2024 must be graduating no earlier than May 2025). Note: Recipients must use their award before graduation.
Nominated students must demonstrate outstanding volunteer contributions, including the degree to which involvement has addressed women's and/or gender equity issues, particularly on campus.

Nomination Process

To nominate a student for the Doherty Award, submit the following items via email to the Women's Center by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024:

Nomination letter (self-nominations are accepted/encouraged)
One letter of support
Nominee's resume or CV
